Related Affordable and Artrepreneur partnered to commission a mural by visual artist Cedric Michael Cox to enrich the lives of residents at White Oak Townhomes. The Cincinnati native was selected for the project after demonstrating immense artistic talents that could benefit White Oak's residents. Cox was inspired to create an artwork that reflected the rich history and spirit of Avondale, which is White Oak's neighborhood and the same area where Cox grew up. During the artistic process, Cox received inspiration from White Oak residents for the mural's design, such as when one resident mentioned loving sunflowers. The finished mural employs a bold and colorful style with floral designs, reminiscent of early modernist art movements like Cubism. As an Avondale resident, Cox is thrilled to make White Oak feel more like home for residents and to leave a lasting mark on the community.
