In London, mixed-use destination Brent Cross Town announced the creation of the city's largest free, girls-only soccer community training program. In partnership with Nightingales FC, the Barnet Nightingales will present free daily soccer lessons to girls ages 6 to 16. All training sessions will be led by UEFA-qualified coaches, providing players expert guidance. Brent Cross Town is proud to sponsor the new program, which will help introduce more girls to the sport and empower more experienced players on their athletic journeys.
In West Palm Beach, The Square gathered visitors on International Women's Day for an inspiring panel discussion led by nonprofit Junior League of the Palm Beaches. Related Southeast Senior Associate Corinne Penksa, who is a member of JLPB, provided an introduction and welcoming words for the conversation. JLPB members encouraged attendees to become involved in West Palm by volunteering and adopting leadership positions, creating a healthier and more engaged community for all.
In New York City, Related residents came together for self-care sessions and an energizing conversation at Hudson Yards' Sundays studio. Amy Ling, founder of Sundays studio, spoke to the group about why she started her company, advising them to follow their intuition and trust their innate abilities to succeed. Her company prides itself in offering non-toxic, cruelty-free and vegan nail care, pioneering a wellness-based approach in nail care. Also in New York City, The Cortland's residents gathered for a sake tasting event on International Women’s Day. Residents joined sake sommelier Yuki Minakawa for tastings of sake brands made or owned by women.
Across Related's offices, women were highlighted in a myriad of ways for their strength and invaluable contributions. In Chicago, Related Midwest and LR Contracting staged a photo shoot with women employees at newly pre-leasing The Row Fulton Market, celebrating Women in Construction Week. At Related Management Company, the WeRG Group organized an International Women's Day event where employees came into the office wearing purple, as the color is associated with the women's suffrage movement and the fight for gender equality. On March 16th, the Related Women’s Network invited employees to a discussion with Wendy Garcia, NYPD's Deputy Commissioner, Equity and Inclusion. The virtual event allowed participants to interact with Ms. Garcia and learn from her experience in creating, implementing and evaluating inclusive and transparent strategies within the NYPD.
