Previous Next What's Happening Around the Company Vertex Pharmaceuticals doubles lab footprint at 22 Drydock in Boston's Seaport Global biotech company Vertex Pharmaceuticals has announced that it will fully lease Related Beal’s forthcoming iSQ3 lab facility at 22 Drydock Avenue, developed in partnership with Boston Real Estate Inclusion Fund (BREIF) and Kavanagh Advisory Group. The 340,000-square-foot research and development facility known as Leiden II will feature on-site training facilities, a café, fitness center, roof deck, conference and event space and outdoor public seating. Leiden II will be part of the larger Leiden Campus that also includes Leiden I, the new 269,000-square-foot lab facility that Vertex currently occupies. Once complete, Leiden II will help create 500 new jobs in the Seaport district and will support STEM education with a fully built-out teaching laboratory that will advance locals' skill-sets and lead to new employment opportunities in the life sciences. Read the Article Luxury rental building The Set announced to open at Hudson Yards This fall, Related will launch The Set, a new kind of luxury rental residence, with its first location opening at Hudson Yards. The Set's 270 high-end residences will come furnished and will provide residents access to concierges and three floors of hotel-inspired amenities. With community as a key feature for its discerning residents, The Set will curate ongoing programming, including engaging speaker events and wine tastings. Read the Article Related employees join Cycle for Survival to support rare cancer research On May 13th from 6-10pm, employees from across Related participated in Cycle for Survival at Hudson Yards' Public Square and Gardens, riding stationary bikes alongside other participants. All proceeds raised from the event will go towards funding research and clinical trials for rare cancers, led by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Coterie Cathedral Hill commemorates grand opening in San Francisco On May 11th, Related and Atria Senior Living celebrated the grand opening of the first Coterie residence in San Francisco's Cathedral Hill neighborhood. Coterie is redefining retirement by bringing luxury senior living and world-class care to older adults in major cities across the country. What's Happening Around the Company Chicago's HIRE360 new small business development center receives investment to help diversify the industry In April, HIRE360 received a $3 million investment to build a new small business development center in Chicago, geared towards serving women- and minority-owned businesses as they seek apprenticeships and explore opportunities to grow their companies. Since 2019, HIRE360—which Related Midwest is a founding member of—has worked with underrepresented business owners to increase their participation in the real estate industry and provide critical services such as mentorship and access to loans, and the new center will provide the organization's first physical location. The volunteers prepared four gardening beds, constructing them from hay bales, wooden railroad ties, gravel, soil and the compost collected from the composting facility, which will help grow fresh vegetables available for harvesting by the park’s more than 17 million annual visitors and members.
