Related employees join Cycle for Survival to support rare cancer research

On May 13th from 6-10pm, employees from across Related participated in Cycle for Survival at Hudson Yards' Public Square and Gardens, riding stationary bikes alongside other participants. All proceeds raised from the event will go towards funding research and clinical trials for rare cancers, led by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Wollman Park Partners announces DiscOasis, a disco-themed roller skating experience at Wollman Rink

This summer, Wollman Park Partners is unveiling DiscOasis, an immersive roller skating experience at Wollman Rink that will combine 1970's aesthetics with disco music to turn back time in New York City. From June 16th to October 1st, DiscOasis will present open skate sessions, interactive installations, live theatrical performances and live DJs playing disco music amid a stunning roller rink centerpiece and colorful themed backdrop.

Related Beal and Jamestown announce 260,000 square feet of lab leases in Boston

In Boston's Eastern Seaport neighborhood, Related Beal and Jamestown's conversion of the Innovation and Design Building into cutting-edge lab space has drawn 9 biotech companies to sign leases for a total of 260,000 square feet. New tenants include Entrada Therapeutics, Shape Therapeutics and Jnana Therapeutics, biotech companies that are developing innovative medicines and technologies to advance the diagnoses and treatments of diseases. The historic Innovation and Design Building's transformation from office space into lab facilities will further support Boston's fast growing life science sector, adding more than 700 new jobs to the Seaport.

Chicago's HIRE360 new small business development center receives investment to help diversify the industry

In April, HIRE360 received a $3 million investment to build a new small business development center in Chicago, geared towards serving women- and minority-owned businesses as they seek apprenticeships and explore opportunities to grow their companies. Since 2019, HIRE360—which Related Midwest is a founding member of—has worked with underrepresented business owners to increase their participation in the real estate industry and provide critical services such as mentorship and access to loans, and the new center will provide the organization's first physical location. The 40,000-square-foot small business development center will include a culinary training center, conference rooms, a playroom for children of business owners and workers and more.

Related’s ECN organizes neighborhood walk with Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC

In early May, Related’s Early Career Network (ECN) hosted its first neighborhood walk with nonprofit Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC, the city's oldest and largest youth mentoring group. The event brought together Hudson Yards employees and students from Manhattan's Leadership & Public Service High School on a scenic walk that started at the Public Square & Gardens and passed through Hudson River Park and the High Line.

Hudson Yards team helps build veggie garden at NYC's Hudson River Park

At the end of April, team members from Hudson Yards helped local Hudson River Park build a new garden in the northern area of its Compost Center. The volunteers prepared four gardening beds, constructing them from hay bales, wooden railroad ties, gravel, soil and the compost collected from the composting facility, which will help grow fresh vegetables available for harvesting by the park’s more than 17 million annual visitors and members.

On March 22nd, Related team members joined staff from the High Line for their annual Spring Cutback event. Volunteers cut and collected overgrown grass to be used for compost, making room for new spring growth, animal species and pollinators.
